Where do I start?

The best place to start is to reference the Capstone Handbook. If you have additional questions or need help, reach out to a Capstone teacher - current Seniors, underclassmen, and parents are welcome to reach out at any time.

Alumni Wisdom

"My overall thoughts from my Capstone is that Capstone is an overall great experience for the student to get the opportunity to teach. To pick whatever topic they’d like and share that topic, share knowledge." - Shanieliz Perez, Class of 2021
"Take your time and pick a topic you're really interested in and want to expand your knowledge on. Also pick a mentor you're comfortable with that you can talk to and will help you with the things you need - don't be shy to ask for help." - Hector Torres Jr., Class of 2021

Capstone Expo

Career students have an opportunity to share their Capstone by participating in Capstone Expo from Skills21 at EdAdvance. Career participates in Capstone Expo each year and students have continued to show their Panther Pride with achievements and awards in various categories. Each year we look forward to providing this opportunity to Seniors and cannot wait to see what the Class of 2022's participants and their Capstones are among other participating Connecticut high school students!
For current Seniors, if you would like to participate in Capstone Expo, inform your Capstone teacher or keep a lookout for the Google Classroom invite upon the start of the new school year to join in on the fun!

CONGRATULATIONS Alumni!

Shareout Corner

Sharing your learning experience with an audience is an extremely important part of Capstone. Your panel will want to know how you have shared your learning and what kind of feedback you received before your final presentation.
The share out is a crucial part of your Capstone and should be well thought out at the beginning of your planning. Select an audience that will be interested in or benefit from your work.

Started in the 2020-21 school year, Share Out Day is an option to share your research and learning with others! This is an opportunity created for all Senior Capstone students held twice a year (Fall and Spring semesters) where you can sign up with your Capstone teacher for a spot to showcase your Capstone with a guaranteed audience within Career for all grade level students and staff to see, learn, and support you and your topic.
More information regarding Share Out Day will be forthcoming from your Capstone teacher as the semester progresses.

Final Presentation Showcase

The final presentation's of Capstone are exciting for all that eagerly await each semester to see and hear about your research that may have been driven by a passion or interest but also by an opportunity to dedicate a semester of new or "stretch" learning on something you may already know. Be inspired by our Career Panther Alumni as now they are supporting you on your Capstone journey!

For current Seniors, if you would like your final presentation recorded for rising Seniors and underclassmen to be inspired by your work or topic, inform your Capstone teacher and we'll work with you the day of.
